Target Corporation Supports West Broadway Coalition!

Minneapolis based Target Corporation (Target) is generously providing the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition (WBC) with technical assistance around public safety improvements. Target is working with the WBC to review safety and security strategies to determine some potential solutions to minimize nuisance crimes such as loitering and public drinking and criminal activity on and around West Broadway Avenue.

While this is a new partnership, the assistance from Target has already proven quite helpful. Some key potential next steps around enhanced use of technology, communication tools, and more will greatly enhance the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition ability to successfully execute the West Broadway, Cleaner, Safer, Greener project. This support from Target will tremendously help the WBC to achieve its ultimate goal of improving the perception of safety on West Broadway and in North Minneapolis as a whole.

Minneapolis Approve Free Wireless Service To Bridge Digital Divide

In its continuing efforts to make Minneapolis a wireless city that bridges the digital divide, the City Council approved 51 applications for Wireless Community accounts, which are free wireless Internet accounts for non-profit organizations that provide free computer access to the public. West Broadway Safe Zone Gets Additional Funding from Community Partners...

The National LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) - Community Safety Initiative awarded the WBC $15,000 and the City of Minneapolis - Great Streets Program awarded the program $35,000 to support its ongoing efforts with the Cleaner, Safer, Greener West Broadway Avenue project in conjunction with the WBC Safe Zone program.
